December
2007 - RE-SEED Meeting
On December
11th, RE-SEED will be holding its 14th annual meeting on Northeastern
Campus. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Phillip Sadler, Director
of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics Science Education.

September
2007 - Kickoff Event
On October
15th, the Center for STEM Education will be having its "official"
kickoff celebration. The event will be held in Raytheon Amphitheater
from 3:00-4:30. |

August
2007 - Additional Funding
The Center
for STEM Education receives additional funding to maintain the RET
site for at least 3 more years.
Also,
the Center has received funding from NSF to lead the NU STEP-UP
initiative. The Center will work with various STEM departments on
campus and with three Massachusetts Community Colleges on the project. |

Summer
2007 - Programs End
The Center
would like to thank all staff, faculty, funders, and participants
involved in the running of three successful summer programs: The
ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Program, The Research Experiences
for Teachers (RET) program, and the Young Scholars Program (YSP). |

Blackboard
What Is Blackboard?
Blackboard is a Web-based software application which allows faculty and
students to communicate online, share course materials, and even complete
online assignments. In order to access the online site, you will need
the following:
• If you are a Northeastern
University student or faculty member, you can access blackboard with your
MyNEU username (ex. j.smith or smith.j) and password.
• If you are not a Northeastern
student or faculty member, a special account can be created for you, requiring
your first and last name and a valid email address. Usernames are often
created as firstname_lastname.
